Red Wings takes delivery of a Tu-204 aircraft from Aviastar-SP
Moscow, February 17. CJSC "Aviastar-SP" has handed over a Tu-204-100B medium haul jet (serial number RA-64049) to Red Wings airline customer (Red Wings).The aircraft was delivered within frames of the Contract signed by the airline and JSC "Ilyushin Finance C�", a UAC's subsidiary company. This is the fourth aircraft, made for Red Wings by Aviastar-SP. Two more planes are expected to be delivered to the Carrier in the nearest future. The Tu-204-100B aircraft is designed to carry 210 passengers. Its range is 4000 km. L.A Jet Charter

European Aviation Safety Agency Validates FAA Certification of Boeing 777 Freighter
EVERETT, Wash., Feb. 06, 2009 -- The newest member of the Boeing [NYSE: BA] 777 family, the 777 Freighter, today received its formal stamp of approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). EASA validated the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Feb. 3 type certification of the 777 Freighter.The certification formally recognizes that the 777 Freighter has passed the stringent design and testing requirements mandated by FAA and EASA, clearing the airplane for cargo service. The first 777 Freighter will deliver to launch customer Air France later in the quarter.

The ATR 72-500, approved to operate at the London City Airport
ATR has received from the London City Airport (LCY) the approval to operate the ATR 72-500 in this downtown airport, after the aircraft successfully completed steep-approach trials and noise tests.According to the LCY specific requirements due to the presence of obstacles, ATR has demonstrated the ability of the ATR 72-500 to approach the airport at 5.5�, while complying also with the strict limitations of the airport in terms of noise.The ATR 72-500 joins the ATR 42-300 and the ATR 42-500, which are already approved to operate at LCY.The Irish carrier Aer Arann becomes today the first operator of the ATR 72-500 aircraft at the London City Airport, with inaugural flights from and to the Isle of Man.Luigi Lombardi, ATR SVP Operations, declared: "We are proud to see that both the ATR 42 and the ATR 72 are now approved to operate in such a unique airport. We are also very pleased to contribute to the preservation of the environment in London with aircraft featuring very clear advantages in terms of CO2 and noise emissions."
